Nagarjuna Sagar to Srisailam steamer boat facility has began once again amidst the huge rain fall and enormous water inflow in to both the projects. The boat journey up the stream on the Krishna River is generally run by the Telangana tourism dept between August and December based on the water levels. Due to the heavy rainfall this year, Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar projects are up to the capacity and this facilitated enough water for the huge boats to run between them.
The boat journey between Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam travels through dense forest of Nallamalla hills which is home to several tigers and also to some fresh water crocodiles. Therefore, the Sagar Srisailam boat journey isn’t the safest boat journey and any human error or unfortunate natural disasters can end into mishap.
That’s why the Telangana tourism board had ordered the most safest multifloor boats with cameras beneath the shaft. The speciality of the boats is that even if water pushes in to the boat lower side, the driver can be alerted and with the lower floor under the water, he can safely reach the boat to the near by land.
The bookings for this journey can be done on the website Telangana tourism.in
